On this podcast Maanda Tshifularo (SuperLead CEO) interviewed Steven Zwane who is the Founder and Chairperson of the award-winning Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development (YLED), an NGO that is aimed at empowering young people. This seasoned Strategy and Operations Professional is currently the Managing Member at PAPO Communications, which is a cutting-edge Management and Strategy Solutions Consulting Business, and has various years of senior management experience across a number of sectors. Steven was awarded the prestigious Nelson Mandela Scholarship to study towards a Masters of Business Administration at Durham University. On this interview, Steven talks about how home pressures awakened his inner entrepreneur at the tender age of 5. He shared his journey from not being allowed to attend school as a young boy herding cattle, to being the founder of YLED, which has gone to benefit over 20 thousand individuals since its inception in 2004. We talk about sustainability challenges in the non-profit space, the importance of equipping and inspiring young people to enable them to see a brighter future and so so so much more.
