On this podcast Maanda Tshifularo (SuperLead CEO) interviewed Mixo Ngoveni. Mixo is the Founder and CEO of Geekulcha, a Tech entrepreneur and Tech Advocate. He is also a member of TedxPretoria. Mixo represented the Tshwane University of Technology at the Microsoft Imagine Cup local finals and was selected as one of six Microsoft Student Partners in South Africa.
Mixo was nominated as one of Tomorrow’s Leaders by SAINE, became one of 30 Youth Villages Most Inspirational Young South Africans, he is one of the Sowetan Top 100 Young Bosses in South Africa for 2015 & 2016, the Mail and Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africans for 2015, Top 100 Superbalist, HTXT Africa’s Top 10 Young South African’s in Tech and Youth Village Top 30Under30 Young Inspiring Africans, and he is one of the 2017 IITPSA IT Personality of the Year Finalist.
On this interview, Mixo talks about his childhood and his keen interest for entrepreneurship. He shares how representing the Tshwane University of Technology at the Microsoft Imagine Cup local finals opened his eyes to a whole new world that he was previously not exposed to. He demonstrated leadership by making it his mission not only to learn as much as he could, but also to share the knowledge with others who did not have access to it. This became the journey that led him to founding Geekulcha which has gone on to have a positive impact on many more young people and the tech industry
